The HTC Wildfire brown comes with a TFT screen that’s 3.2 inches in size. It is a capacitive touchscreen which means it’s much easier to use even if you have large fingers – no fingernails required! The screen can display up to 16M colors and hence is highly colorful to look at.

Other features of the display include multi touch input, an accelerometer to sense for rotation, touch sensitive control features, a proximity sensor to automatically turn off the phone when it isn’t in use and a feature which allows you to turn the phone in order to mute it. If you’re used to the Apple OS then it may take some getting used to but once you do you’ll be glad you made the switch.

The camera is of a reasonable quality and is 5MP. It can record images of a resolution 2592×1944 pixels and has an LED flash for capturing images in low light conditions. It can also detect smiles and comes with a geo tagging capability. The phone is able to record video. A great feature of the HTC Wildfire brown is that it comes with a built in FM radio making it easy to find entertainment when on a long journey.

In summary the HTC Wildfire brown is a great phone that is packed with features for a reasonable price. Although the HTC Desire has a bigger and better quality screen the HTC Wildfire is a good alternative if you don’t have the money. It comes in both black and brown versions although the choice is purely a matter of personal opinion.

The HTC Wildfire black is often seen as the smaller, cheaper version of the HTC Desire. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing though as the Desire is one of the best phones available but expensive. Some of the best things about the phone include the Android OS, great connectivity options and easy sync with social networking. Some of the best features of the HTC Wildfire black include that it has built in GPS, an address book that can merge social networking and address book contacts, built in FM Radio and support for multi touch. It’s also relatively cheap compared to other phones such as the HTC Desire even though it doesn’t look like a cheap or budget phone. One downside of the HTC Wildfire black is that the screen has a relatively low resolution at only 240×320 pixels. This is largely only a problem when looking at websites though and isn’t too much of an issue. It does mean that the beautiful Android OS isn’t shown of in all its glory which is a bit of a shame. Even so, the phone looks great and the display is vibrant. A major bonus is the capacitive touch screen which allows for prevision control without the need for a long fingernail or stylus.

There are very few downsides to the HTC Wildfire black apart from the screen size. One other problem is that it can occasionally be unresponsive when tapped although this isn’t a problem at all times. The small problems are more than made up for by the bonus features such as app sharing and Flash Lite support. The FM radio is a nice inclusion too and vies you an extra option when travelling.

The HTC Wildfire black is a fantastic phone and is definitely an alternative to the Desire if you don’t have the money to afford the latter. It was released in May 2010 and hence is a relatively new phone but there are still some cheap HTC Wildfire black deals to be found.
