HTC Touch HD

The HTC Touch HD phone was released towards the end of 2008 but is still a competitive Windows Mobile phone. In fact, it was the first Windows phone released by HTC and is probably the best. It has a slim and attractive design and comes with features such as GPS and WiFi. Although most people would probably prefer to run Android rather than Windows it is still a phone worth considering. There are also some cheap HTC Touch HD contracts available now that the phone isn’t brand new anymore – take a look at some of the best options below.

The HTC Touch HD has a large 3.8 inch screen with a resolution of 480×800 pixels which makes it a joy to use. The screen includes a touch sensitive set of navigation buttons and an ability to recognize handwriting. An accelerometer and proximity sensor are also included – the latter for automatically turning off when the phone is not in use. Alert types include MP3, WAV and vibration.

Connectivity is a major factor of any smart phone and the HTC Touch HD isn’t a letdown in this respect. It has HSDPA for fast 3G downloads and comes with WiFi built in. There is also a GPS system included. The card slot is microSD which can hold up to 16GB of data and there is a miniUSB port. Bluetooth connectivity is also included for those who need it.

The camera of the HTC Touch HD has 5MP, an autofocus feature and the ability to record videos. The video can record at up to 30fps. Although it isn’t the highest quality camera available on modern smart phones it is more than good enough for most situations. Other specifications include 288MB of RAM, 528MHz processor and an HTML browser. The SMS system is threaded and there is support for email and instant messaging.HTC Touch HD

Although the HTC Touch HD phone has improved on the Windows Mobile platform by utilizing the TouchFLO system there is no doubt that the operating system isn’t the easiest to use. Windows Mobile icons are, unfortunately, very difficult to select unless you have small fingers and hence it’s worth trying out the phone before you buy. This is only a minor problem though and shouldn’t put you off from getting the phone.

Overall, the HTC Touch HD is great phone that has all the features you’d expect from a smart phone. With good connectivity options, easy access to the internet and GPS it is worth considering.
