HTC HD2

The HTC HD2 is another Windows Mobile smart phone by HTC. It comes with a large screen and is snappy to use which isn’t always the case with a Windows phone. There are plenty of features including such as HTC Sense, a high quality virtual keyboard and support for multi touch gestures. The primary downside to what is otherwise a great phone is that there are relatively few apps available for the phone is the Windows Marketplace is yet to really take off. Even so, there are some good cheap HTC HD2 deals available and it is definitely worth a look.

Features

The best thing about the HTC HD2 is the large screen and snappy response time. The screen size is 4.3 inches and has a resolution of 480×800 pixels. It includes Sense UI, an accelerometer and support for multi touch input. Aside from the actual screen the operating system looks good and the home screen is especially impressive.

Although there aren’t as many apps available compared to Android of the Apple app store there are still some good ones available. Even so, the number of apps is not likely to increase substantially as the Windows Mobile platform isn’t doing particularly well. The app store itself isn’t doing very well either and hence if you’re looking for apps then an Android phone such as the HTC Desire may be a better option.

Other features include a My Phone backup system, a 5 megapixel camera with two photo lights (LED) and built in widgets for accessing social networks. Social networking an email are almost as important as texts and phone calls these days and the HTC HD2 combines them all together comfortably. In some cases there is some overlap between the different features of the phone which can make tasks confusing although this is only a minor problem.

Even though the screen of the HTC HD2 is the largest on the market the phone does a good job of hiding this! It doesn’t feel like a big and bulky phone even though it’s one of the biggest due to its sleek design and very small outer bezel. Even so, if you’re looking to carry your phone in your pocket at all times then you may find the HTC HD2 is too big to carry. One advantage of having a large screen is that the notoriously small icons on Windows phones are big enough to tap with a finger. Because the screen is a capacitance touch screen you don’t have to use a large amount of pressure to make it work which is another bonus.Other side of HTC HD2

In summary, the HTC HD2 is a great phone that is perfect if you want a high powered, large touchsreen smart phone. There are some problems with it but overall Windows Mobile works well and the phone delivers all the features you’d expect. For as slightly smaller and equally impressive phone you should consider the HTC Desire.
