Importantly for a phone with such a large screen, the HTC Desire HD is designed to be as thin and lightweight as possible. This helps to offset the necessary size of the phone because of the screen. Its dimensions are 68x123x11.8mm, and should ease some people’s fears over the size of the phone. With that said, it is still a large phone (like the original Desire). If you’re looking for a small, light and compact phone then this probably isn’t the one for you. Unlike the original model the four buttons are touch sensitive rather than physical buttons – whether this is a good thing or not depends on how you feel about touch sensitivity.
If you want a high quality smart phone that comes with a huge number of features then the HTC Desire HD is definitely a handset to consider. Like the original Desire the HD model has fantastic browsing capabilities along with the ever improving Android app store to back it up. Not everything about the HTC Desire HD is good though, and there are some things that are disappointing. Firstly, the battery life of the HTC Desire HD is not good. You expect a poor battery life with most smart phones, especially with the large screen, but it’s still annoying to have to worry about whether your phone is going to last through the day. Other annoyances include that the video player isn’t as good as other systems and that the screen doesn’t have OLED technology. These are relatively minor issues when you take into account the good features of the phone though.

For those of you who like to stand out, the HTC Desire chocolate may be a good choice. although it isn’t drastically different to the original HTC Desire HD colour scheme, it’s a less common version. It does, however, have exactly the same features as the normal HTC Desire HD so keep this in mind when buying. Some people prefer the chocolate colour scheme – it really is a matter of personal choice.
